A veterinary clinic website that books new pets and tells emergency callers exactly where to go
Pet owners look up a vet in two situations: a new puppy or a move to town, and a pet that is hurt tonight. We build websites for New Jersey veterinary clinics that handle both. A new-client page and an appointment request that asks about the pet serve the first. An emergency page that says plainly which hours and cases you cover serves the second. Fee and emergency wording is written against the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners advertising rule.

New clients
A new-client page and an appointment request that start with the pet
A new client wants to know whether you are taking patients, what to bring to the first visit and what the exam costs. The new-client page covers those, along with which species you see, since not every clinic sees rabbits, birds or reptiles.
The appointment request asks for the pet's species, age and the reason for the visit, so the person who calls back knows whether to book a puppy exam or a limping senior dog. It also carries a line telling anyone with an urgent problem to call the clinic and not to wait for a reply.
Emergencies
An emergency page that says exactly what you handle
Searches for an emergency vet near me come from people in a hurry, often at night. If your clinic is not an emergency facility, the worst thing the site can do is imply it is. The page lists your regular hours, what happens when the clinic is closed and which emergency hospital you send people to.
If you do take emergencies and the clinic meets the state's emergency-facility rule, the page states which hours and which cases: for example, walk-in urgent care on weekdays but no overnight surgery. Precise wording helps the owner decide quickly. New Jersey limits emergency-service claims, as the next section explains.
New Jersey rule
What the State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners says about advertising
Veterinary advertising in New Jersey is covered by N.J.A.C. 13:44-4.8. As we read it, three points shape a clinic website. A veterinarian who says emergency service is provided, or implies the facility is open for emergencies outside regular hours, is within the rule only if the facility meets the Board's emergency-service rule. A veterinarian may not claim to be a specialist where national specialty board certification exists and he or she lacks it, and where no such certification exists for the area, the word may not be used at all. And an advertised fee has to be a fixed fee or a stated range for a specifically described routine service, with the relevant variables disclosed (otherwise the fee is presumed to include everything the service ordinarily requires) and a stated period it is in effect; if no period is stated, the rule treats it as 30 days.
The rule also says an ad that includes the facility's name, address or phone number must name at least one licensee responsible for the advertised services, and copies of printed and electronic ads must be kept for three years. We put the responsible veterinarian's name where it is needed and send the practice a dated copy of each price page for its records.
The emergency-service rule is N.J.A.C. 13:44-4.11. As we read it, a facility labeled and advertised as an emergency service facility needs a licensed veterinarian and a supporting staff member present whenever it is open, and its ads list the days and hours it is open and say that a New Jersey licensed veterinarian and a supporting staff member are on the premises during those hours. The rule does not apply to a clinic that is not labeled an emergency facility and only lists an after-hours phone number. Whether the clinic can use that label, and the exact words on these pages, are for your counsel or the Board to decide, and we change whatever they flag.
Service pages
Service pages that match how owners search
Owners search for a service for their pet, not for a general vet.
Wellness plans and vaccines
What a puppy or kitten visit schedule looks like, what is covered by a wellness plan, if you offer one, and the price or range with the dates it applies.
Dental care, spay and neuter, senior pets
A page for each, written by your veterinarians, with what the day looks like for the pet and the owner and the aftercare that goes home.
The team, with titles you can claim
Each veterinarian's school, license and interests. A "specialist" label appears only where the veterinarian holds national specialty certification.
A pharmacy or online store
Food, preventives and prescription refills you want to sell online go through a store built on our online store service, with prescription items handled the way your clinic sets.
Search
Showing up on Google and Google Maps for veterinary searches
Vet searches are about distance, hours and whether the clinic takes new patients, so the map listing carries much of the load.
A profile that matches the door sign
Use the clinic's real name, as Google's profile guidelines require, and keep regular and holiday hours current. A wrong closing time sends a worried owner to a locked door.
Species and services as pages
If you see exotic pets, say so on a page of its own. Searches for a rabbit vet or a bird vet then reach a page that answers them, and not the general home page.
Towns you serve, not towns you invent
Owners drive to a vet, so a few real neighboring towns on the contact page help. Dozens of pages that swap the town name do not. Our local SEO service works out which towns deserve a page.
Reviews from owners, asked for fairly
The FTC's reviews rule bans fake reviews and incentives tied to a positive or negative rating. Ask each owner the same way and thank them without listing a pet's treatment.
Tools
Which of our tools fit a veterinary clinic
An AI receptionist is something we build. None is running at a veterinary clinic, and our sample calls show a pizzeria, not a clinic. For a clinic we would script it to book routine visits, give hours and hand every symptom, emergency or medication question straight to a person or to the emergency number you choose. It would not triage a pet.
The customer sales board is a sample pipeline, and the idea carries to reminders: who is due for vaccines, who has not booked after a dental estimate. Its sample data is home-service leads, not patients. Full reminder systems tied to your records are custom software and depend on what your practice software exports. Run the website speed test on your current site to see how it loads on a phone.
A different pet business, Superior Protection Dogs, is a dog training company, not a clinic. Training has its own needs, covered on the dog trainers page.
Try it
Try the AI phone answering
Follow sample calls as an AI assistant takes a pizza order, answers a question and passes a call to a person.
Questions
Veterinary website questions
Can our website say we handle emergencies?
Only if the clinic meets the Board's emergency-service rule, N.J.A.C. 13:44-4.11, which as we read it calls for a licensed veterinarian and a supporting staff member on site whenever the facility is open. If it does, the page states the exact days and hours, that a licensed veterinarian and supporting staff member are on site then, and the kinds of cases. If it does not, the page says plainly where to go instead.
Can a veterinarian call himself a specialist?
Not where national specialty board certification exists and the veterinarian does not hold it. We use "specialist" only for a doctor who has that certification, and describe other interests, such as a focus on dentistry or exotic pets, in plain words.
Can we post prices for exams and vaccines?
Yes, as a fixed fee or a stated range for a specific service, with the factors that change it and the period it applies. We date each price page and send you a copy of every version, since the rule has the licensee keep copies of ads for three years.
Can pet owners order food and refills online?
Yes. A shop for food and preventives works like any online store. Prescription items depend on how your clinic handles them, so we set that part up only once you tell us the process.
Next step
Tell us your hours and what you see
We read how new clients and emergency callers reach you today, then reply with a written proposal for the site, the request form and the Google Maps work.
