Who can apply
Who can apply
Businesses in New Jersey, New York or Connecticut
The directory starts in New Jersey, and businesses based in New York or Connecticut can apply too. Categories grow with the businesses that are listed, so any trade or service can apply.
A website of its own
Every detail on a listing comes from the business’s own website, so we can’t list a business whose only presence is a social media page or a profile on another directory.
The owner, or someone the owner authorized
The person applying has to own the business or have the owner’s permission. We confirm the details by email before anything goes live.
Verification
Exactly what we verify
The same checks apply to every business, including Mega Media clients. A detail we can’t confirm on your website stays off the listing.
- 01
A live website of its own
We open the business’s website and confirm it loads, belongs to the business and names it. A listing needs one, because every detail we publish has to be something the business already shows the public.
- 02
Name, phone and town match
The name, phone number and town on the listing have to match the website. If the website doesn’t show a street address, the listing doesn’t either.
- 03
Services and service area as published
Services and the area served come from what the business lists itself. We don’t add a service it doesn’t offer on its site or a town it doesn’t name.
- 04
Credentials only when shown publicly
A license or registration number appears only when the business displays it on its website. We leave out insurance, awards and certifications we can’t see there.
- 05
A dated record
Each listing shows the date of its last check and what we checked. When a business sends new details, we check them the same way before the listing changes.
Listing
What a listing includes
A profile page on this site with your description, services, service area, phone number, hours and any license numbers your website shows, each one checked. The page links to your website and carries structured data that describes the business to search engines.
Your business appears in its category on the directory. Once two or more businesses share a category, that category gets its own page too.
Listings are free, and so are updates. When something changes, send it through the form on this page and we check it the same way.
