Zubar Roofing: a roofing website built around a roof check homeowners keep

Zubar Roofing & Exterior Systems is a roofing and exterior contractor in Clifton, working in Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Hudson and Morris counties. Its calls run from water coming through a ceiling to a replacement planned months out. We rebuilt its website in 2026 around one main offer, the Roof Health Assessment, with forms that tell the office what kind of visit is needed and an alert when a visitor taps to call, text or email.

Main offer

The Roof Health Assessment, explained on the page

  • A score out of 100

The page publishes the whole method: seven parts of the roof, weighted to add up to 100, and five score bands. One failed flashing detail caps the score, because an average can hide a leak.

  • A report the homeowner keeps

The homeowner gets a written report and keeps it whether or not they hire Zubar, so the visit is useful either way.

Requests

How each request reaches the office

  • Project type first

The same form books an assessment or asks for a free estimate, depending on the page. It asks for the ZIP code and the job up front, from an active leak or storm claim to tree damage, replacement or not sure, so the office knows what kind of visit it is before calling back.

  • Call, text and email alerts

When a visitor taps the phone number, a text link or the email address, the office gets an email right away with the page, the approximate town and the search or ad that brought them in. Repeat taps are grouped so one person does not set off a flood of alerts.

  • Where each lead came from

Every request arrives with the landing page, the referring site, any Google or Facebook ad click, the device and the time, so the owner can see which marketing produced the job.

  • Spam filtering

Forms catch bots with a hidden trap, reject posts sent faster than a person could type, cap requests from one address and filter link-stuffed messages. Bots get a normal-looking success message, so they learn nothing.

Help before the visit

Answers homeowners can use on their own

  • Roof size and cost factors

A tool estimates the roof's size from the home's footprint and pitch and explains what raises or lowers a quote: material, steepness, stories, complexity and tear-off. It shows no dollar figures, by the owner's choice, and ends with a request for a free written quote.

  • Printable checklists

A storm-damage checklist and a roof maintenance checklist are open pages, with no email address needed to read them.

  • A learning center

Articles on ceiling leaks, flashing versus shingle leaks, preparing for an insurance adjuster, tree strikes, permits and seasonal care.

  • A page in Spanish

A Spanish page for homeowners in Paterson, Passaic, Clifton and Union City covers replacement, leak repair and flat roofs.

Local pages

Five counties and the towns in them

Zubar's local SEO covers the five counties it works in. Each town page links to its twelve nearest towns by real distance, and service-in-town pages, such as roof replacement in Paterson, were chosen from what Search Console showed people in those towns searching for. Its sitemap held 163 URLs on October 6, 2026: 69 in the service-area section, 44 in services and 34 in the blog.

Our Bergen County page and roofing company websites page cover how we plan local pages for businesses in these counties.

Getting found on Google

What is in place so Google can find, read and trust the site. We don't publish a client's traffic or rankings.

  • In place: Every page in the sitemap Google reads

The sitemap is generated from the site content, so a new page is listed the day it goes live.

  • In place: Business details Google can read

Its roofing business details, service area, hours, services, FAQs and articles are marked up on every page.

  • In place: Google profile and listings linked

Its Google Business Profile, Yelp, Nextdoor, Houzz, BBB, Apple Maps and other profiles are linked from the footer and the code, with the name and address matched to the Google and Yelp listings.

  • In place: The old site’s addresses carried over

Old page addresses forward to their new pages, so links to the old site still land somewhere useful.

  • In place: Search engines and AI tools kept up to date

Each release pings Bing and its partners with the changed pages, and a plain-text summary file helps AI search tools read the site.

  • In place: Visits and leads measured

Google Analytics and the lead alerts show which pages and which searches or ads bring in calls and requests.

Under the hood

How it's built

The engineering behind the assessment, the alerts and the move off the old host.

  • Next.js, off the old host

The site moved from an older Hostinger site to Next.js, with pages generated ahead of time. Every old .php and .html address forwards permanently to its new page, so the old site’s search value carries over.

  • The scoring method as data

The assessment rubric is stored as data and published in full, and the structured data defines the Roof Health Score as a named term so search engines treat it as one concept.

  • A Google rating that never drops to zero

The rating shown on the site comes from the business's Google profile and refreshes every six hours. If Google can't be reached, the last known values stay up.

  • Visit tracking

Google Analytics 4, Google's visitor statistics, and Vercel Web Analytics record visits and the taps that matter, on the live site only.

  • Security headers and form checks

Strict security headers on every page, plus per-address limits, an allowed-origin list, a time trap and escaped notification emails on both form endpoints.

A lab test of the homepage on an emulated Moto G Power with slow 4G throttling. Largest Contentful Paint is how long the main content takes to appear; Total Blocking Time is how long the page is too busy to respond to a tap. Scores shift between runs, so read them as a snapshot of the day of the test.
