Tri-State Roofing and Chimneys: a roofing website built to turn searches into quote requests

Tri-State Roofing and Chimneys repairs and replaces roofs and chimneys for homes and businesses from its base in Garfield, Bergen County, and works only in New Jersey. We rebuilt its WordPress site in 2026. The new website had to bring in free inspection and quote requests, give someone with a leak a fast way to call, and show up when people in New Jersey towns search for a roofer or chimney repair.

Requests

From a worried homeowner to a quote request

  • A form that already knows the job

On a service or town page, the free estimate form picks that service and names the town in its heading, such as a roof repair estimate for Garfield. Elsewhere it lists the 15 services plus Other or Not sure.

  • Requests in the office inbox at once

Each request is emailed to the office right away with the service, the page it came from and the visitor’s approximate location.

  • Call, text and email alerts

A tap on the phone number, the text link or the email address sends the office an alert, and repeat taps from the same person within a minute count as one.

  • An emergency path on every page

An emergency banner and a call bar on phones lead to the emergency roof repair page, county emergency pages for Bergen, Passaic, Essex and Hudson, and an emergency board-up page.

  • Spam filtering that keeps real leads

Several checks stop bots: a hidden trap field, a minimum fill time, a limit per address, throwaway-email rejection and name and phone checks. A separate scorer catches hand-typed sales pitches, drops only the obvious ones and marks borderline messages as likely spam, so a real roofing lead is never thrown away.

Tools

Two ways to plan a roof budget

  • Roof cost calculator

The homeowner enters roof size, pitch, material, complexity and the layers to tear off, and gets an itemized planning range with the permit and New Jersey sales tax shown. The page says plainly that it is a range and that an inspection sets the final price.

  • Budget tier estimator

A second tool places the project in one of four budget tiers from size, material, complexity, access and layers, without a dollar figure, and explains what moves it from one tier to the next.

Local pages

A hub for every county and pages for the towns that need them

Each of New Jersey’s 21 counties has a hub page, and 22 service-in-county and 31 service-in-town pages pair a job with a place. Town pages are written from local facts we could check, and 106 of them are live. The rest redirect to their county hub until searches show people looking for them, which keeps Google focused on pages that can rank.

Chimneys, storm and insurance work, commercial roofing, and windows and glass each have their own section, and four guides compare roofing materials side by side. Of the 299 URLs in its sitemap on October 6, 2026, 128 sit in the service-area section, 71 in services and 40 in the blog. Our Bergen County page and roofing company websites page explain how we plan this kind of structure, and the local SEO checklist covers the basics any NJ business can start on.

Search

Getting found on Google

What is in place so Google can find, read and trust the site. We don't publish a client's traffic or rankings.

  • In place: Only rankable pages in the sitemap

The sitemap lists the pages meant to rank, and each page's last-changed date moves only when its content really changes.

  • In place: One business record for Google

The business details marked up on every page point to a single record, linked to its Google Business Profile and its directory listings.

  • In place: Listings made to match

The business name and address were made identical across its local listings, with a written checklist for the ones still waiting on a fix.

  • In place: Dated audits set the fixes

Dated on-site audits, run with our own crawler, led to rewritten titles and descriptions and the removal of repeated text that made pages look alike.

  • In place: Ready for AI search

AI answer tools are allowed to read the site, and a plain-text summary file for them is built from the site’s own data.

  • In place: Changed pages announced on every update

Each update tells Bing and the search engines that share its feed which pages changed, through IndexNow.

Under the hood

How it's built

The engineering and checks behind a site this size.

  • Next.js, with pages prepared in advance

Pages are generated as plain HTML before anyone asks for them, and we confirmed that search engines and AI tools get the full text and business details without running any JavaScript.

  • Checks that run before every release

One check blocks titles and descriptions that Google would cut off. Another blocks business claims the owner has not confirmed, such as coverage areas, response times or certifications, as a safeguard against copy drifting over time.

  • One rule for town pages

A single rule decides which town pages stay open to Google. The sitemap, the page builds, the town lists and the internal links all follow it, so no page links to a redirect.

  • A crawler of our own

A crawler we wrote walks the site, refuses to audit any page that only appears after JavaScript runs, and checks titles, structured data and links. Search Console exports are saved as dated snapshots, because Google keeps only 16 months.

  • One business identity

Structured data on every page, the code that describes the business to search engines, points to a single business record instead of several near-copies.
